Built for the small. The roomier sizes show the same payload with space to spare; a tighter slot gets its own tree from the server, not this one shrunk.

How it works

The app offers this one under Add Hook, so a new install has something real on screen before anybody has written a server. It is also the shortest answer to "is this thing actually fetching?" — the time underneath is counted on the device from the moment the response was built, so it moves whether or not anything else does.

There is no bg here and no hex value anywhere. The widget keeps the system's own container material and every colour resolves when it is drawn, which is what makes one payload correct in light, in dark and under the Home Screen's tinting. Use the Light and Dark control above — nothing in the payload changes.

lines lets the greeting wrap to two lines rather than shrink, which is what you want in the small slot; the roomier sizes fit it on one. Everything else is a spacer doing the vertical arrangement, so no position in this payload is a number.

url is the address the widget opens when it is tapped. It is a property of the response, not of a node — a widget is one tap target, not a page of links.

Put it on your Home Screen

This example is served live, with timestamps generated at the moment of the request. Add the URL as a hook in the app and it will work on a real phone.
